Visit Puma Orco, the "Cradle of the Puma." To get to this site, we will travel 2 hours by horseback through a beautiful inhabited terrace system known as Muscay Pugio. This terrace system was held by the government as a National Patrimony and the communities which used to inhabit it were prohibited to work the land. About five years ago the government allowed the community to again farm these rich terraces. Now one can see a living terrace system in the context of the natural lifestyle of the people who reside there. Picnic lunch at Muskay Pugio. Overnight Urubamba |

Travel to the Temple of the Falcon at Pisaq in the Sacred Valley. The day will be spent enjoying the spectacular climb amidst agricultural terracing with a breath-taking view of Apu Pachatusan across the Urubamba River. Along the path to the Temple, note that the cliff walls are honeycombed with hundreds of holes, former Inca tombs. At the summit you will experience one of the most beautiful of the Incan temples, Pisaq. We will spend the day exploring the site, energetically working with the callapa stone and the seven chakras, and participating in a medicine plant ceremony. A picnic lunch will be provided, as well as dinner and overnight hotel, just outside of Cuzco. |

Travel to Cachora, a pueblo at the foot of Apu Salkantay, the main apu to the west of Cuzco. We will visit Tarawasi, the main administrative place of the Incas and one of the primary stopover cities on the way to the north. We will visit Saywite, a huge stone regarded as a model of the irrigation system for this area. It is completely carved with animal representations and canals. Overnight camping in Cachora. |

Travel by horseback to the exotic city of Choquequirau, a middle-size archaeological site that has not yet been completely archaeologically excavated and cleansed. It is a city in the middle of the Andes, in the chain of mountains which belong to Salkantay. On our way to Choquequirau we will pass through the canyon of the Apurimac River which is one of the deepest canyons of the world. Apurimac, in Quechua, means "The God that speaks." For some people it is said that Choquequirau was the lost city of the Incas known as Paititi. According to the new finds, it seems to be that it was a ceremonial place particularly related with Apu Salkantay. This city remains quite remote even though it is related to Machu Picchu for it lies only two days by horse from the crystal city. We will depart by horse on the afternoon of the 25th, bound for hotel. All meals during this time will be provided. |

Flight from Cusco to Lima to Tarapoto. Tarapoto is a small village in the jungle with a large market in which the natural products of the area are sold. The weather is warm and humid during the day and cools down at night. This is not the flat amazon basin; this is part of the jungle called "the eyebrow" because of the pass formed between the mountains and the flat lands. This is the reason why we will be able to see beautiful waterfalls and also the beautiful Huallaga River, one of the main affluents of the Amazon. We will be working here deeply for three days with the sacred plant known as the 'vine of death', Ayahuasca. The ceremony will allow us to "cleanse" the first night, "heal" on the second and, on the third night, we will work with "vision." Through this work we will seek to reestablish the order and balance in our physical, mental and spiritual bodies. We will camp along the banks of the Huallaga River. |
| |
We leave the lake bound for Puerto Palmeras where we will check into a beautiful five-star resort hotel where we can shower, relax, and enjoy the village. |
| |
Farewell lunch in Tarapoto before departing for Lima. While awaiting our late-night flight to Miami we will have time to explore the marketplace of Miraflores, an affluent suburb of Lima, and shop for gifts and moments. |
